Piracy
Specifically in high-risk areas such as the Gulf of Aden, the Indian Ocean and the West coast of Africa, the threat of modern piracy is disturbingly increasing. As a clear example, in 2011, 56% of all registered attempted hijackings in the Gulf of Aden were carried out by Somalian pirates.

A hijack jeopardizes the crew, vessel and cargo. Moreover, shipping companies are often faced with exorbitant ransom demands. International protection by navy vessels seems insufficient and as a consequence, the demand for private security companies is increasing. Professional security
QPO MSC exclusively works with well-trained and highly experienced personnel to ensure onboard safety. Our staff members are screened by the Dutch Ministry of Justice and all are in possession of a Declaration of behavior.

QPO MSC is aware of all the relevant (inter)national rules and legislation regarding security services and we act according to the BMP4 and ISPS-codes. We closely cooperate with BSC, a security company acknowledged by the Dutch Ministry of Justice with years of (inter)national experience.
